Daily Recap — June 1

The news calls for a special Friday recap.

And I…..am a slave to the news.

AAAAAND WE’RE BACK

.

.

I apologize in advance for using actual Korean names in this piece. It just doesn’t work as well when no one knows who I’m talking about.

The Rocket Man summit is back on, PDT announced today, ending weeks of insufferable bitching and backseat driving from liberals and RINOs who could never solve the North Korea situation in a million years. This comes a week after Trump cancelled the summit as a response to Kim trying to get cute and mouth off.

Trump met with top Rocket Man® official Kim Yong Chol for an hour-long meeting in the Oval Office before posing for photos in the hallway. Chol is the most senior North Korean visitor to the U.S. since Vice Marshal Jo Myong Rok visited Washington in 2000 to meet Slick Willy and his Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. That was the last time the two sides, which are technically at war, attempted to arrange a leadership summit. It failed, of course, because Democrats (and especially crooks like Bill Clinton) can’t conduct foreign policy to save their lives.

Fun fact about that: At the time of the Slick Willy summit, Trump was making the rounds on TV warning that we better handle North Korea now or the problem would be much worse in a couple decades. He was correct.

After Slick’s time in office, relations turned sour again after George Dubya Bush took office in early 2001 with a tougher policy on the North, but not tough enough as their nuclear program continued apace for the duration of his presidency. As for Barry, he employed a tactic dubbed “strategic patience.” In English, that translates to “don’t do a damn thing.”

.

And that brings us to today, with Rocket Man’s #2 man Chol delivering a letter to Trump from Rocket Man himself. Trump told reporters he hadn’t yet read the letter from Kim and added with a smile, “I may be in for a big surprise, folks.” But minutes earlier he had described the note as “a very interesting letter,” and teased the #FakeNewsCrew about revealing its contents.

“We’re going to deal,” Trump told reporters after Chol left. He also said it was likely that more than one meeting would be necessary to bring about his goal of denuclearizing the Korean peninsula but “I think you’re going to have a very positive result in the end. We will see what we will see.”

And then, wouldn’t you know it, in true Trump fashion he pulled something out of his pocket he’d never before mentioned: even more sanctions. Trump said he had “over 100 new sanctions waiting” to be implemented anytime he chose fit, but that since Kim is behaving, he’ll hold back on them…..for now. Or as Trump said, “until the talks break down.”

“I don’t even want to use the term ‘maximum pressure’ anymore,” Trump added, referencing the sanctions campaign that has put a hurting’ on Rocket Man’s already pitiful communist economy.

UPDATED ANALYSIS OF OBJECTIVES/TACTICS:

.

This resumed diplomacy is great and all (there’d be no hope without it), but the devil remains in the details, many of which aren’t publicly known. The good news is this little corner of the internet you’ve happened upon is the best place you could possibly be to get an educated guess.

I don’t know many things, but I know Korea, Jack.

Kim is playing it slick, and dangerously so. Despite the upbeat messaging in D.C., he held a meeting with Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov (their version of Pompeo), wherein he complained about the U.S. trying to spread its influence in the region, a comment that’s sure to complicate the summit.

“As we move to adjust to the political situation in the face of U.S. hegemonism, I am willing to exchange detailed and in-depth opinions with your leadership and hope to do so moving forward,” Kim told Lavrov.

This meeting with the Russians is significant, for several reasons. Firstly, Russia is rarely up to anything good as it relates to U.S. foreign policy. So before moving forward, we can make that safe assumption. That’s just a brute reality. The Dims cynically use them to push their own brand of anti-Americanism, but it doesn’t change the reality that they primarily work against our interests.
.

So where could they fit in here?

I believe Kim all but spelled it out for us: a hedge against U.S. power. Rocket Man’s denouncing of American hegemony during that meeting is no accident. But Russia is only one component.

The big prize is South Korea. Kim’s play is to drive a wedge between, or at the very least weaken, relations between the U.S. and S.K. by manipulating the weak left-wing South Korean president into selling the farm in the name of unity. The peace deal between the North and South is good and necessary, to be sure, but we must ask to what end it’s being negotiated. Nativism is a powerful force, especially among the racially conscious Korean population. Rocket Man is no dummy. He can use that nativism to strengthen his relations with the South while simultaneously weakening our own.

Does Kim want to reunite the peninsula for the sake of ushering North Korea into the modern age, as is our hope, or is it a means of further consolidating power leading up to a standoff of nuclear proportions? I’d like to confirm the former, but actions as of late force us to examine the latter rigorously.

The Russia meeting is not in isolation, either. Recall, just a couple weeks ago Kim made a surprise trip to China to meet with president Ping Pong Table — not a small event. And recall that it was after this meeting that his belligerence resumed. Though short-lived, could that belligerence been borne of a newfound confidence in his support system moving forward? It’s a very real possibility.

If PDT is smart, and he is, he’ll demand answers to all these questions during the summit on June 12. Until we have definitive answers for the pattern that’s emerged, we cannot operate under the assumption that Kim is acting in good faith, not that we ever really could anyway.

.

.

BIG PICTURE:

.

While my analysis has updated for the worst with Kim’s recent behavior, the endgame remains the same.

We can analyze all of this until we’re blue in the face, but the fact is it will come down to one thing: whether Kim Jong Un believes continued nuclear missile development will be his demise.

He very well may believe that so long as he can bide his time until his ICBM’s are complete, he’s got it made. There is a school of thought within the top levels of North Korean leadership that a completed nuclear missile is the golden ticket, and that once achieved no one will dare threaten the regime.

It’s not merely a deterrent, though. Nukes have always been a ransom tool for the NK regime. They’ve used nuclear development as leverage to shake down foreign aid from the U.S. and other countries for decades. That practice certainly won’t improve when their capacity expands to a global reach.

Soon enough, we’ll know whether Kim is trying to assemble a coalition by which to stave off U.S. military intervention should he make the possibly suicidal move of going full speed ahead on his ICBM program, or if he’s serious about trading his nukes for a better economy and a place on the world stage.

Make no mistake, PDT is being tested. His job is to convince Kim that cutting the crap is much better for his health than slick shenanigans meant to get him across the finish line.  With our best intel showing that he’s on the doorstep of being able to send a nuke anywhere in the continental U.S., the time for talk will soon be over.

Kim must believe that his response to Trump is the difference in life and death.

If Trump passes the test, it will mean Kim reached the correct conclusion.

Please pray for our president. I don’t envy his job.

TABLES TURNING ON THE DEEP STATE

.

.

For a year, we’ve seen headline after headline about FBI goons intimidating, arrested and searching anyone and everyone connected to our president. It’s nice to see a headline in the direction for a change.

Investigators from the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office recently interviewed Leakin’ James Comey as part of a probe into whether his deputy, Deep State McCabe, broke the law by lying to federal agents — you know, that thing they indicted Mike Flynn for.

DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz accused McCabe in April of misleading investigators and Comey *four* times — three of them under friggin oath — about authorizing a disclosure to the media. Remember, that was the leak in which he tried to portray himself as fighting against Hillary within the bureau, the one I called comically transparent and an insult to any thinking person. An obvious case of “methinks the lady doth protest too much.” Horowitz referred the findings to the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office to determine whether criminal charges are warranted.

I’LL SAVE YOU THE SUSPENSE: IF YOU’RE GOING TO INDICT OTHERS FOR THE EXACT SAME CRIME, YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO DO IT HERE, TOO.

Lying to federal investigators can carry a five-year prison sentence, for those keeping score at home.

.

For his part, McCabe disputes that he intentionally misled anyone.

Michael R. Bromwich, McCabe’s lawyer, said in a statement: “A little more than a month ago, we confirmed that we had been advised that a criminal referral to the U.S. Attorney’s Office had been made regarding Mr. McCabe. We said at that time that we were confident that, unless there is inappropriate pressure from high levels of the Administration, the U.S. Attorney’s Office would conclude that it should decline to prosecute. Our view has not changed.”

He added that “leaks concerning specific investigative steps the US Attorney’s Office has allegedly taken are extremely disturbing.” This from a leaker’s attorney, mind you.

But here’s where it gets interesting.

McCabe and Comey are at odds over the IG’s findings. McCabe asserts that Comey knew he authorized the media disclosure, and Comey claims otherwise. Comey has said he “could well be a witness” against McCabe if McCabe were ever charged and tried.

Their main beef is over who authorized the leak for the article. They discussed the story the day after it was published, and Comey, according to the IG report, told investigators McCabe “definitely did not tell me that he authorized” the disclosure.

“I have a strong impression he conveyed to me ‘it wasn’t me boss.’ And I don’t think that was by saying those words, I think it was most likely by saying ‘I don’t know how this s— gets in the media or why would people talk about this kind of thing,’ words that I would fairly take as ‘I, Andy, didn’t do it,’ ” Comey said, according to the inspector general.

McCabe has countered that emails between the two “clearly show that Mr. McCabe specifically advised Director Comey that he was working with colleagues at the FBI to correct inaccuracies in the story before it was published, and that they remained in contact through the weekend while the work was taking place.”

Here’s the problem with that for Andy, though. Those emails were in reference to a different Wall Street Journal story about donations his wife had received from a political action committee controlled by Clinton hatchet man Terry McAuliffe.  He got his corrupt deeds mixed up. Based on McCabe’s lack of credibility, the IG ultimately credited Comey’s account.

Considering Comey’s behavior since and before his own firing, though, can we really trust either of them? You’re watching sewer rats in a fight to the death.

What a grotesque sight.

.

.

.

WHAT SIZE PICTURE DID YOU ORDER AGAIN, MEDIUM? OH, BIG? GOT IT.

.

Here’s the bottom line.

A referral from the IG does not guarantee charges will be filed. However, McCabe is documented as lying to investigators several times, 3 times under oath and 4 total. Of course, it’s illegal to lie to FBI agents whether you’ve been sworn in or not. Just ask Mike Flynn.

McCabe’s lawyer is going for the “misunderstood” and “misremembered” defense. But Comey’s own testimony, which Horowitz has sided with, demonstrated McCabe as having made a concerted (and slimy) effort to mislead about the leak.

“Huuurrrrrrrrr durrrrrrrrrrrr Jim I don’t know how these things get into the media Hurrr Durrrrrrr.”

What a jackass. That, or Comey tells really corny lies. Both are equally possible.

So what’s it gonna be, DOJ? Is it still the Just-Us Department, or are you going to start prosecuting people equally on both sides?

Past history has made me cynical, but I want to believe that it will be different under this administration. Sessions needs to show he’s useful.

I put the chances of prosecution at 60%, subject to change as more facts become available.

.

Wildcard:  What else was Comey “grilled” about? I don’t believe the McCabe leaking lies were the totality of that interrogation. They already know about the WSJ leaks and their minds were made up the day that part of the IG report leaked last month.

Whatever it was, Leakin’ James ain’t leakin’ those tidbits. And the DOJ seems to have kept all of this tight-lipped from the start.

Stay tuned, because I have a feeling we haven’t heard the last of Jimmy boy.

JOBS JOBS JOBS!

.

.

PDT told everyone he’d be the best jobs president God ever created, and the early returns point in that direction.

Make no mistake about it, folks, the Trump economy is booming. Businesses hired people left and right in May. Let’s list off the meat and potatoes of this month’s jobs report:

.

.

223,000 FRIGGIN JOBS WERE ADDED:

This beats  the expectations of the know-it-alls, who predicted about 190,000 jobs added. Growth had slowed somewhat the last 2 months, which led the naysayers to proclaim the economic boom to be on its last legs. Looks like we’re just getting started, nerds.

.

.

UNEMPLOYMENT DROPPED TO 3.8 FRIGGIN %:

That’s the lowest in 18 years. The unemployment rate is now solidly below what the know-it-alls consider sustainable in the long term, but they do expect it to keep falling.

.
.

WAGES GREW FASTER, INCREASING 2.7% YEAR OVER YEAR:

Other evidence also shows workers are getting hired faster. Among hourly employers, who make up about half of all jobs, one-quarter are getting filled in the same day. You never saw that under Barry Soetoro, #BelieveMe.

I read an interview with an employer that said he used to dip into his applicant pool once a week. Over the last few months, if he doesn’t get back to someone within 1-2 days they’ve already gotten a different job. That’s what you call prosperity.

.

BLACK UNEMPLOYMENT DROPPED TO 5.9%, THE LOWEST FIGURE EVER:

That figure is usually double the unemployment rate for whites. It was 6.6% last month, also a record low at the time. We’re essentially setting a new record every month.

Can you imagine if Barry Soetoro had done that? They’d have a parade for him down Pennsylvania Ave.

It must really eat at white liberals how great Trump is at being president. Their tears are delicious.

.

.

UNEMPLOYMENT DROPPED FOR LESS-EDUCATED AMERICANS:

The unemployment rate for those with less than a high-school degree is now 5.4%, while unemployment for high-school grads is below 4%.

In fact, the chief economist at ZipRecruiter says that less educated people are rebounding in job searches much faster than the highly educated Hillary voters who probably don’t know how to check their own oil.

But one doesn’t need a Ph.D to predict that sort of thing.

.

.

.

BIG PICTURE:

.

You don’t need an NSA nerd for this one. The Trump economy is roaring. Even coochie-cappers have had to cut their sky-screaming to a few hours a day to accommodate their expanded work schedules.

Hidden gem in this story: Dims are in serious trouble if the GOP continues to receive an uptick in black support. Polls have ranged from 11 to 18%, so we’ll call it 15%. That’s bad for the Pelosi crew. Yes, it’s still incredibly low. But the near uniformity of the black vote has been crucial in some states, especially those in which urban areas offset the rural vote. Simply put, Dims have already loonied themselves out of the rural vote, they can’t afford to take much of a dent with the urban crowd.

But this jobs report shows fertile ground for the GOP to do just that. And whether conservatives like it or not, Trump is aware of what this means electorally and will continue to entertain issues such as prison reform to make inroads in that direction.

He’s a smart politician. Sorry if that’s overly cynical. I don’t mean to imply that Trump doesn’t actually care about the black community. His past history actually demonstrates the opposite. But he’s also shrewd. If the black community continues to reap the benefits of the Trump presidency, he’s gonna keep ripping more and more percentage points off the Dim stranglehold, meaning the electoral map is gonna look like a Verizon coverage chart all over again.

For a guy who never wanted to be a politician, Trump is most definitely a natural.

Then again, God wouldn’t send him into a fight without the right weapons.

(My PB is tricky— almost suffocating, BP low, surgery, now breathing, BP is so high.) The rest of the recap is awesome, not listening to many voices has trained me to be patient, News is news, how one hears is critical. Good job!
