Daily Recap — August 6

Mondays seem to arrive faster than any other day of the week. Maybe I’m just a glass-half-empty person. Or maybe time just flies by when it’s not friggin Monday.

COLLUSION FOUND

.

.

After a frenzied two-year search under every nook and cranny for collusion meant to undermine American values, we’ve finally hit pay dirt!

Apple, Spotify, YouTube and Facebook all colluded over the past couple days to perform one of the most un-American actions imaginable: censorship of a voice with whom they disagree.

YouTube joined the other aforementioned companies today to become the last to ban Alex Jones’s Infowars channel, essentially creating a blackout effect due to the reach of all the tech companies involved. Of course, Jones will still be able to broadcast from his own site, which will undoubtedly be more popular than ever thanks to his newfound martyr status.

.

After Infowars supposedly violated YouTube’s policies against child endangerment and hate speech, Jones was banned for trying to circumvent the site’s enforcement measures. He reportedly received a 90-day moratorium on livestreaming for violating its policies and then tried to promote his flagship radio show on other YouTube pages, prompting a permanent ban.

“When users violate these policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts,” a YouTube spokesperson said.

YouTube neglected to elaborate on the “hate speech” or “child endangerment” involved, though I know the former to be a blanket term used by the Left to censor views with which they disagree. Want to be a “hate speaker”? Simply espouse views that undermine leftist ideology and do it effectively. Voila! — you’re a hate merchant.

.

Jones had expected to be removed for some time now, given the increasing calls for his canning after episodes such as the Sandy Hook saga, in which he assigned the federal government far more credit than it deserves by suggesting that it was all an elaborate hoax involving “crisis actors.” He’s made similar claims regarding, well, pretty much every shooting that has happened over the last 20 years

Facebook had been under intense pressure to remove him since the Sandy Hook shootings and really felt the heat recently when Jones made the same claim about victims of the Parkland massacre. Zuckerberg, to his credit, stood strong and even defended his decision not to boot Jones before a congressional committee, saying that if he, as a Jewish man, could respect the rights of holocaust deniers to espouse their views, then Jones should be able to express his as well. It was quite the statement and almost made me respect Zuck for a second. Almost.

And my failure to give him the full benefit of the doubt did not go unrewarded, as Zuck caved to the mob just as we all knew he would. As soon as the other companies came down, there would be no brave stand for free speech by our pal Zuck. Rather, he would follow suit like the coward we all know him to be. Facebook said today that it had suddenly decided to take down Infowars and Jones’s pages because they violated company policies.

.
“[U]pon review, we have taken [the pages] down for glorifying violence, which violates our graphic violence policy, and using dehumanizing language to describe people who are transgender, Muslims and immigrants, which violates our hate speech policies,” Facebook wrote in its post on the matter.

Note that you’ll find no such policy related to the dehumanization of white people. Nope, you can do that and get a job on the editorial board of the failing New York Times.

.

The exile of Jones drew much criticism from those of us who care about having diverse voices out in the political landscape. You know, non-fascists.

The Drudge Report’s banner headline for most of today was “Apple regulates hate.” It also included a link high on its site to the conservative Gateway Pundit site that said: “Are Tech Giants Working Together to Censor Conservatives?”

Note to Gateway Pundit: there is a terrific analysis of that question in this month’s edition of WTF DO YOU THINK magazine.

Infowars editor-at-large Paul Joseph Watson criticized Facebook’s decision as political censorship:

“This is a co-ordinated move ahead of the mid-terms to help Democrats. This is political censorship. This is culture war,” Watson tweeted.

Right-wing internet warrior Laura Loomer also decried the bans.

“Infowars played a big role in helping @realDonaldTrump get elected. BIG TECH is currently trying to influence elections by banning Conservatives. I’m actually depressed,” she tweeted.

As for GOP politicians, well, they’re doing something, I guess.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA has repeatedly slammed major tech companies, especially Twitter, about their bias against conservatives.

McCarthy also wrote a letter to House Energy and Commerce Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) pushing to have Twitter testify about anti-conservative bias on its platform, following a Vice News report revealing that conservatives were being “shadow banned” by having their names precluded from autocomplete search results.

“Any solution to this problem must start with accountability from companies like Twitter, whose platforms have enormous potential to impact the national conversation — and unfortunately, enormous potential for abuse,” McCarthy said in the letter.

McCarthy had also attacked Google in May after their “knowledge panel,” which displays facts on about things users search, showed “Nazism” among the California GOP’s ideologies.

In May, Facebook said that it would start an “anti-conservative bias review” led by former GOP Sen. John Kyl (R-AZ). As a part of the review, company executives also met with officials from the conservative Heritage Foundation.

In June, Twitter,  reportedly conducted a set of quiet meetings with Republicans to hear them out as well, but the only “conservative” attendees I’ve been able to find were Glenn Beck and Tim Miller. Beck is, well, Glenn Beck. Tim Miller is Jeb! Bush’s former campaign spokesman and communications director. He’s perhaps the most rabid NeverTrumper on the planet. So yeah, pardon my skepticism regarding how hard they really worked to protect conservative voices.

BIG PICTURE:

.

I’ve said this to death but I’ll give it another go just for good measure: No, I don’t like Jones, but he shouldn’t be censored. It’s a dangerous slope we’re now sliding down and it will end with completely segregated media, which is the last thing our country needs at the moment.  I don’t have to agree with someone in order to value their right to speak. And yes, I know this isn’t a First Amendment issue. I’m aware that these are private companies. But my point remains the same — this is a dangerous precedent that will end with more balkanization, more violence and a further slide into a new civil war.

Let’s discuss what this is really about, though. Paul Joseph Watson and Laura Loomer have it right. The powers that be are finally understanding the power of social media and the threat it poses to their information monopoly.

All during the 2016 election, the press and the so-called political experts they invited on air mocked and ridiculed the Trump campaign’s lack of a ground game and/or television ad spending. The conventional wisdom said that you better have both those things in spades or you don’t stand a chance. Yet Trump didn’t spend much on either.

And for good reason. While the Ivy League philosopher kings were debating on just how large Trump’s margin of defeat would be, he and Brad Parscale were revolutionizing presidential campaigning by relying heavily on social media to push their messages. This gamble ended up paying off handsomely, as he was able to win damn near every rust belt state despite being outspent on television and GOTV efforts more than 5 to 1.

Welp, the message has finally gotten through the thick skulls of our political foes that Facebook, Twitter, etc. are invaluable resources for PDT and his base which, yes, includes many Infowar watchers. This is 100% political. The media establishment are attempting to remove our most potent weapon; the one that allows us to bypass their propaganda and propagate information that their Swamp partners would rather keep hidden.

The internet is a terrifying place to the powers that be because they can’t control it. Today, they sent the message that they’re going to try anyway.

The good news is they won’t succeed. The web is but a vehicle for communication. They’ll never be able to contain it. That toothpaste, as they say, ain’t goin’ back in the tube. However, we’re going to have to fight and raise hell to stop this pattern of censorship at least until the midterms. After that, we’ll have time to set up our own platforms, sink Facebook and Twitter’s stock once and for all and do some mockery of our own.

They are on the losing side of this. It will get ugly for a bit, but what they did today will backfire handsomely in the long term. Just be vigilant about getting your messages out there. Stay focused on winning the upcoming elections and we’ll handle this conclusively shortly thereafter.

GAME OVER FOR IRAN

.

.

The jihadist government in Iran had it so, so good under the Barry Soetoro administration. Propaganda videos of our captured sailors, drug cartels operating within the United States with the knowledge of the president, piles of unmarked cash sent over in the dead of night…they had it all.

My, how times have changed.

The Trump administration announced today the reimposition of sanctions on Iran that Barry lifted as part of the #BigFatMess known as the Iran Deal.

The sanctions will take effect at 12:01 a.m. tonight (probably about when I’ll finish this recap) and follow through on the order PDT gave when he withdrew from the #WorstDealInTheHistoryOfDeals back in May.

“The United States is fully committed to enforcing all of our sanctions, and we will work closely with nations conducting business with Iran to ensure complete compliance. Individuals or entities that fail to wind down activities with Iran risk severe consequences,” PDT said in a statement today.
Translation: You can do business with us, or you can do business with Iran. Choose wisely.
And #BelieveMe, they will.
.
“The JCPOA, a horrible, one-sided deal, failed to achieve the fundamental objective of blocking all paths to an Iranian nuclear bomb, and it threw a lifeline of cash to a murderous dictatorship that has continued to spread bloodshed, violence, and chaos,” Trump added. JCPOA stands for Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. It’s the technical name of the Iran Deal, though I prefer #BigFatMess.
.

In announcing the sanctions action, administration officials touted Iran’s ongoing civil unrest and economic woes and reiterated Trump’s openness to meeting with Iranian leaders.

.

THE STRATEGY:

.
.
It’s so easy even a coochie capper can understand it.
.
Simply put, the Trump administration aims to exert pressure on the Iranian regime until they come to the table to negotiate a real deal; one that doesn’t involve us grabbing our ankles and paying off mullahs not to annihilate ourselves and Israel.
.
Just as with North Korea, the goal is to keep the pressure on until the other side is forced to the table with virtually no leverage. The Obama administration actually had this sort of situation handed to them on a silver platter. Before their idiotic deal, the Iranian government had so badly mismanaged its economy that its currency was dying and domestic unrest threatened to change the regime from the inside. Yet inexplicably, the Barry crew threw Iran a lifeline in the form of a pile of cash and relaxing of sanctions that not only gave them new life, but a new status as a regional power.
.
Then again, it’s only inexplicable if you don’t understand that Obama is anti-Israel and pro-anyone who wants to nuke America. As hyperbolic as that sounds, I promise it’s the one assumption that allows for a logical analysis of the Obama administration. But I digress.
.
There will be no lifelines given this time around, unless it comes in the form of an Iran that abandons its nuclear ICBM program and ceases to be a daily threat to the lives of Israeli schoolchildren. And the administration is prepared to stay tough until the mullahs cry uncle:
.

“The president has been very clear: none of this needs to happen,” said NSA John Bolton. “He will meet with Iranian leadership at any time to discuss a real, comprehensive deal that will contain their regional ambitions, will end their malign behavior and deny them any paths to a nuclear weapon.”

.

When announcing the withdrawal, the Trump administration gave companies two wind-down periods before it would reimpose sanctions. The first 90-day wind-down period ends today. That means a whole lotta business leaving Iran, Jack. And the sanctions coming down the pipe aren’t random throws at a dart board, but targeted strikes meant to bring the regime to its knees.

The sanctions that will come back into effect after midnight target transactions with U.S. dollar banknotes; trade in gold and precious metals; direct or indirect sales of graphite and metals such as steel and aluminum; certain transactions related to the Iranian rial; certain transactions related to issuing Iranian sovereign debt; and Iran’s automotive sector.

Additionally, authorizations will be revoked for the import of Iranian-origin carpets (lol), food products and the export of commercial aircraft.

The second wind-down period, which ends Nov. 4, will be even worse, as that is when the granddaddy of them all strikes: oil sanctions. Whereas the other sanctions will beat Iran to a pulp, oil sanctions will break its back.

.

If there’s a silver lining for the Iranians, it’s that their globalist buddies in the European Union, the only people on Earth more anti-Semitic than themselves, are fighting with all they have to keep the jihadist regime afloat. The EU argues that the deal is vital to keeping Iran from attaining a nuclear weapon. They want the U.S. to keep paying a nuclear ransom every 10 years for Iran to pretty please not hurt us, all while conveniently doing business with the regime.

Remind me again about what great “allies” these people are.

“We deeply regret the re-imposition of sanctions by the U.S.,” the EU and foreign ministers of France, Germany and the United Kingdom said in a joint statement today. “The remaining parties to the [nuclear deal] have committed to work on, inter alia, the preservation and maintenance of effective financial channels with Iran, and the continuation of Iran’s export of oil and gas.”

Good luck with that, commies. The big boys are already leaving town. Trump is a bit smarter than you, see. He understood that those companies value access to the biggest market on Earth (America) over appeasing a regime that threatens half the world every day with Islamic Armageddon.

As a matter of fact, more than 100 companies across the globe have already announced their intent to leave the Iranian market.

Once again, PDT has outsmarted the EU. It’s probably becoming boring to him by now, but I sure as hell can’t get enough of it.

.

BIG PICTURE:

.

Sometimes, it’s best to just let PDT speak for himself:

“As we continue applying maximum economic pressure on the Iranian regime, I remain open to reaching a more comprehensive deal that addresses the full range of the regime’s malign activities, including its ballistic missile program and its support for terrorism. The United States welcomes the partnership of like-minded nations in these efforts.”

We’ll take the foot off the gas just as soon as Iran stops funding terror groups throughout the world and building missiles with “Death to America” written on them.

Until then, have fun using wheelbarrows of cash to buy a loaf of bread.

THE BRAVEST LITTLE MAN IN D.C.

.

.

I love to give Sen. Rand Paul a hard time (though not nearly as hard as his neighbor gives him, apparently), but his courage as of late should not go unnoticed.

Sen. Paul, who has been a lone voice in Congress supporting PDT’s effort to improve relations with the second most nuclear-armed country on the planet, OMG RUSSIA, announced today that Russian lawmakers have agreed to visit the U.S. Capitol.

.

“Engagement is vital to our national security and peace around the world,” Paul said in a statement that could only be considered controversial to the most deranged NeverTrumper. He is currently in Moscow meeting with Russian officials, in addition to visiting the U.S. embassy in the city.

Paul said he met with Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the Russia Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs. The RFCC is basically Russia’s equivalent of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on which Paul serves as a member.

During his discussion with Kosachev, Paul said the two “agreed on the importance of continued dialogue,” presumably because they’re the last two people on Earth not to lose their capacity for basic reason. He said he invited the Russian Federation to send a delegation to the capitol, and that Kosachev “agreed to take this important next step.”

Ohhhhhh man, the Dims and RINOs are gonna poop themselves over this one.

A date for the possible visit is yet to be determined. It would be the first time in almost three years that an official Russian delegation has visited the U.S. Capitol.

.

Paul has been slammed by the media for “downplaying Russia’s interference in the election,” when in reality all he’s done is tell the truth, which is that virtually all countries meddle in foreign elections.

This is 2018, though, and the truth must take a backseat to the narrative. And the narrative must always be in the service of taking down Trump.

There are many things on which I disagree with Sen. Paul, but he has earned a great deal of respect from me for his willingness to speak truth to the political/media establishment. He’s been a pain in the rear on many votes on the Hill, but the list of people who defended PDT when he needed it the most is a very short one, and he’s at the top.

Good on you, Senator. Keep speaking truth to power.

And as (sane) Americans, let’s hope these meetings bear fruit.

NERD VS NERD

.

.

All the Anon-heads among us could get to see a big show soon, if the original Anon has anything to say about it.

The hacking collective known as Anonymous is pledging to expose the people behind the “QAnon” conspiracy theory.

.

To refresh your memories, Anonymous is basically anyone who claims to be. You probably remember videos during the election season of hackers wearing masks with jerky frames and ominous warnings to “Expect us.” Sometimes the “Anonymous” members were pro-Trump. Others were anti-Trump. Because as I said, Anonymous is anyone who claims to be Anonymous. That didn’t help me convince the scores of Trumpers who were convinced that these were super secret white hats who would expose Hillary, but such is life.

That being said, Anonymous has been known to include actual, formidable hackers. In fact the NSA often hires the ones who manage to get into the DoD. After all, minds like that don’t do us much good in prison. But the origin of the group is one of anarchy, and the latest batch seem to be exclusively anti-Trump. And that’s what brings us to now.

Anonymous just released a video on its most reliable Twitter account slamming the QAnon conspiracy as potentially dangerous and driven by a “brainless political agenda.” Thus, they’ve vowed to expose the fellow neckbeard behind it all.

“We will not sit idly by while you take advantage of the misinformed and poorly educated,” the group said in the video, which was posted with the hashtags #OpQ and #OpQAnon.

.

.

The video, which can be seen here,  depicts various figures with Anonymous masks acting out certain aspects of the QAnon conspiracy against a constant backdrop of the letter “Q.”

The video claims that Anonymous “knew who was responsible for Q” and thought it was funny at first. However, the group now believes the conspiracy theory has gone too far. For what it’s worth, an intel colleague of mine whose opinion I respect greatly also says that QAnon started out as a left-wing prank, so there may be something to what they’re saying. Just putting that out there.

“Someone is going to get hurt, so we have to put our foot down and start some shit with you all,” the group said in the video.

.

.

BIG PICTURE:

.

As I said, Anonymous does have a history of fielding legitimate hackers. They very well may track down the original source of Q. Whoever it posting as Q is likely using proxy servers but it’s still within the realm of possibility, especially with a team effort.

Keep your eyes peeled over the next couple months. This nerd war should be fascinating.
