Or not. Who the hell knows, honestly.
A series of crude IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices) were sent to the worst people on Earth today after an inaugural run at George Soros’s mailbox on Monday. The media, as expected, have foregone any semblance of investigative curiosity to seize on the news and push the narrative of OMG TRUMP IS GETTING US ALL KILLED.
This narrative, of course, relies on the ignorance of the public that the media has done everything in its power to nurture for as long as memory serves. Conservatives – especially Trump supporters – have known all too well the violent threat of the rabid #Resist movement against PDT. Indeed, stories of violence aimed at left-wingers are the man-bites-dog headlines of the modern age.
But let’s not allow facts like that to get in the way of good ole politically advantageous hysteria.
The fact is, no one knows who is responsible for these so-called mail bombings and/or their agenda. Admittedly, my first thought was to assume a leftwing hoax designed to paint the Right in a bad light. My assumptions aren’t born of partisanship so much as historical precedent.
Whether it’s a black church bombing in Alabama carried out by its own members or an anti-Semitic vandalism spree against synagogues committed by leftwing Jews themselves, we’ve seen time after time how faux “hate crimes” have been employed toward Marxist political ends. It’s Alinsky at its finest, and it’s nothing new.
With that in mind, let’s examine the limited information we have at this point to ask some pertinent questions.
According to reports (that should NOT be taken as the Gospel), the bombs sent to Obama, Clinton, Brennan/CNN, and Holder all have the same characteristics as one sent to Schemin’ George Soros on Monday. If true, that’s strong evidence of a single source for all these “attacks,” although with the simultaneous timing that has been somewhat of a foregone conclusion.
Each of the bombs were reportedly made from PVC pipe with a digital timer attached to set off the detonator. And each bomb also contained powder from either a low explosive or a pyrotechnic, like you would find in fireworks. X-rays showed there were likely pieces of shrapnel inside of the PVC pipes, the officials said.
Although not a single bomb detonated, officials are saying that they had the essential components to do so and thus were designed to be successful.
That conclusion may be a bit premature.
Forensics will now play a major role in identifying suspects. Authorities will check for fingerprints, DNA and any hair or fiber that may be preserved inside the packages. Any handwriting on the packages could also offer hints into the personality or even nationality of the sender, based on how letters and numbers are formed.
Authorities methodically search through various clues — including ones the sender may not have even realized were left behind — to home in on who is responsible.
If the packages have any handwriting on or in them, that could also offer hints into the personality or even nationality of the sender based on how letters and numbers are formed.
There are also some basic questions that will be asked, such as whether the targets received any threatening messages lately. I can say for sure that the targets have all delivered some as of late, so that should be taken into account, too. Not saying that excuses a bombing, just saying that the media tend to look at only one side of this equation.
You know exactly what I mean.
Then there is the question of surveillance. Do cameras show someone delivering the packages, or dropping them off somewhere? Did anyone witness any strange behavior recently, such as unusual purchases at a hardware store that could be used to make such devices?
Once investigators are able to dissemble the devices, they may be able to track down part purchases. Some devices have niche parts that can be found in certain areas or stores, and it’s a simple matter of tracking purchases from there.
