“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.”
WE’RE NOT THE ONES TO PROVOKE, JACK
As was pointed out on this blog many times over the past few weeks, the primary mission of our military on the border has been logistical in nature; providing enough detention space and physical border reinforcement to ensure that this latest horde of invaders won’t be able to use their numbers to overwhelm our resources and thus infiltrate the interior of our country.
But PDT has issued a new directive that says that mission can change rather quickly, should the so-called caravan decide to pull the same nonsense they did with Mexican authorities weeks ago.
Although it’s yet to be announced officially, several administration officials have leaked to the news that PDT will be giving troops on the border the authority to protect Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel if they are attacked by migrants crossing into the country.
The AMERICAN military protecting AMERICAN borders from violent invaders. What a concept!
Currently, our troops at the border don’t have the authority to intervene if CBP personnel were to be attacked, which is ludicrous to anyone with a modicum of common sense. The directive from PDT, which reportedly could be announced as soon as tonight, will stipulate that any use of force by the troops must be “proportional.” But that should go without saying.
DHS spokesperson Katie Waldman says the agency “will not allow our frontline personnel to be in harm’s way.”
Damn skippy, DHS.
“We will do everything we can to protect those who defend our nation’s sovereignty and secure our border. We appreciate the Department of Defense stepping in to assist the Department of Homeland Security as needed,” Waldman added.
I know I speak for pretty much every Trumper when I say we appreciate it very much, too.
But that’s not the only show of force the invaders need to worry about.
Hundreds of Tijuana residents are protesting the arrival of the so-called caravan, and the potential for violence is growing by the day.
A group opposed to the chaos of the caravans protested outside their largest makeshift shelter as Mexican police in riot gear formed a perimeter. The demonstrators sang the Mexican national anthem and waved flags as they urged the migrants to go home; all actions that should earn them the label of “racist” and “xenophobe” by American leftists, but their brown skin should be enough to save them from the wrath of our leftist moral overlords.
Some protesters even said the Mexican government should follow PDT’s lead and adopt tougher border policies.
“He’s defending his border, unlike our president,” said protester Elvia Vijeras. “Now there will be more violence in Tijuana.”
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say this illustrates the universal common sense of Trump’s policies! Nah, it can’t be that. The coochie cappers told us that’s not possible. All Hispanics hate Trump, right? That’s what the woman dressed as a vagina told me.
Last Friday, Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum called the influx of migrants an “avalanche” that could wind up staying in the city for at least six months.
And thanks to PDT’s actions of the last few months, the mayor is right. As covered previously, PDT has taken away the option of asylum for illegal border jumpers, forcing them to go through ports of entries instead, WHICH IS WHERE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO GO TO FRIGGIN BEGIN WITH.
Yesterday, PDT tweeted about Gastelum saying the city was “ill-prepared” for the migrants.
“Likewise, the U.S. is ill-prepared for this invasion, and will not stand for it,” Trump tweeted. “They are causing crime and big problems in Mexico. Go home!”
Go home indeed.
Unfortunately for Tijuana residents, their annoyance is about to grow exponentially, as about 10,000 invaders are making their way through Mexico in at least three separate caravans. The first began in early October in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Since then, the groups of migrants have walked, taken buses or hitched rides on any vehicle they could find as many turned down asylum from Mexico on their way to the U.S. border.
That fact alone should negate any hope they have of being granted asylum. They’ve proved themselves to be completely full of crap in that regard.
Whether it actually does remains to be seen, but we’re definitely going to find out just how committed they are to coming in. The Trump admin are only accepting 30 names a day of people who have submitted for asylum. I know, I know. The number should be zero, but it is the law so we have to accept at least some. The Trump administration is essentially finding every loophole it can to make fake asylum claims the most inefficient, futile venture imaginable.
It’s the best they can do with the hand they’ve been dealt, and they’re playing actually playing it brilliantly.
That slow trickle of claim review (less than 20% are accepted on average and that number will be considerably lower with this batch) is bound to make for a very tense situation on the other side of the border, however, as there is a perfect storm brewing as increasing numbers of so-called asylum seekers find themselves stonewalled behind newly fortified barbed wire fencing.
Tijuana residents are already at their wit’s end with this group of migrants whom they’ve called “messy, ungrateful and a danger to our city.”
What comes next can get really, really ugly. And frankly, maybe it needs to be. The message must be sent throughout Central America that these caravans are not a desirable option for entry into America.
Come the right way or don’t come at all.
Keep up what you’re doing, PDT. And when the next spending bill is up in a few weeks, don’t you dare sign it unless wall funding is involved. It’s time to stop with the band aids and finally administer the cure.
Thank you to the troops and border patrol who are keeping watch over our nation in the meantime.
A NEW DAY FOR ACOSTA
The White House released an announcement today that is seen as a huge victory for leftist political operative Crazy Jim Acosta and his employer Fake News CNN, but only because people our enemies aren’t very bright.
Not falling into the trap quite as hard was the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA), who said the administration “did the right thing” in restoring Acosta’s pass, but criticized its new press-conference rules.
“For as long as there have been White House press conferences, White House reporters have asked follow-up questions. We fully expect this tradition will continue,” said WHCA President Olivier Knox, adding the group had “no role in crafting” the rules.
“We will continue to make the case that a free and independent news media plays a vital role in the health of our republic.”
As noted last week, CNN’s court “victory” wasn’t nearly as robust as they thought, and now they’re about to learn that the hard way.
Acosta may have his hard pass, but he’s going to have to act like a professional in order to keep it, and we all know that will be next to impossible for the little commie ankle-biter to pull off.
The White House is laying down the law and I, for one, can’t wait to see it enforced.
It should have happened long ago, but better late than never.
Have fun, Lil Jimmy Acosta. We’re gonna find out just how much of a “reporter” you actually are.
A HACK OF A SPY
John Solomon, the Hill reporter who has delivered Pulitzer-worthy work regarding the soft coup against our president over the last two years, has given us yet another gem.
By now you all know Christopher Steele, the rabidly anti-Trump former British spook who was “desperate to keep Trump from winning the White House.” It was Steele who compiled the infamous pee-pee dossier, which was then used as the primary justification for FISA surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016 and beyond. Had we a legitimate free press, it would be one of the biggest scandals of the century. But we Trumpers can’t allow the legacy media to determine what warrants our outrage, and as a former spook myself (but one who actually loves this country), I’m not about to let this go without informing the public of the real picture.
Let’s get to work on the latest chapter of that exposition.
According to Solomon’s latest report, in February 2016, as the Russian narrative within the DOJ and FBI were just starting to take off, Steele emailed some intelligence reports from his Orbis security company to a potential private-sector client.
The intel products revolved around one central claim; that Hackin’ Vlad Putin was losing his grip on power and on his way out. It was quite the controversial claim — “controversial” being a euphemism for “stupid” in this case — as anyone with a modicum of knowledge of Russian politics and power-brokering knows full well that Putin has an iron grip on his presidential throne.
“I also don’t believe any Russian client or associate will admit to a Western business contact that PUTIN has been weakened or is on the way out, as the intel suggests, out of fear of being branded an oppositionist,” Steele cautioned the recipient. “We shall see but I hope you find them informative/useful anyway.”
Hmmmmm….”I hope you find this useful/informative”…….where have we heard that language before? I’m sure it’s just a coincidence. 😉
So where are you going with this, Trey?
Patience, fool, I’m getting there.
Steele’s claims are and were laughably untrue. In fact, now sitting here nearly three years later, it’s hard to think of an intel assessment that has been less accurate.
Putin is more firmly entrenched in power than ever, so much so that he was able to purge his potential challengers before the previous election without so much as an assassination attempt. The Russian people still know better than to challenge Putin, which means he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
And as Solomon points out, Steele’s reporting in February 2016 went against even the CIA’s own assessment of Moscow, ironically given that exact same month to Congress in the agency’s annual global threats assessment.
From Solomon’s report:
The CIA declared on Feb. 9, 2016, just a day after Steele sent the email, that Putin appeared emboldened for a “more assertive foreign policy approach” and a Western disinformation campaign because his popularity was soaring in his homeland.
“President Vladimir Putin has sustained his popular approval at or near record highs for nearly two years after illegally annexing Crimea,” the CIA reported, saying that expected protests in 2016 over a weakening Russian economy would likely be put down with “repressive tactics.”
In other words, the CIA believed Putin was going nowhere and was planning to flex his muscles even more.
What this means is a guy who supposedly made a career out of spying on Russia was unable to reach even the most obvious conclusions regarding his supposed country of expertise. Not only that, but he reached the opposite conclusion of the very government who was supposedly trusting his Russian bonafides to get surveillance warrants. Interesting.
The reason that’s important is Steele’s expertise on Russia was supposed to be the factor that superseded (read: excused) the political origins of the dossier.
In other words, the FISA application was predicated on the fact that the man who was compiling information on possible connections between Russia and the Trump campaign was so competent, so well-respected that it didn’t matter who paid for the dossier or their intentions. Mr. Steele’s reputation was above reproach, therefore no one should pay any mind to all the shady things that were going on behind the scenes. Mr. Steele is a professional, doggonit, so how dare we accuse him of acting as a political operative. He’s merely a concerned Brit looking out for his buddies in America who are being attacked by OMG PUTIN!
Making matters worse, at the same time Steele was pumping out these staggeringly incompetent intel assessments about Russia, he was in constant contact with his buddy Bruce Ohr at the DOJ, the same Bruce Ohr who acted as a go-between for Steele and the FBI for all things dossier-related, even after Steele was fired by the FBI for leaking to the media at the behest of his employers at Fusion GPS.
So that begs the question, was anyone at the FBI/DOJ reading this washed-up spook’s incompetent intel reports? There’s no good answer to that question for the Deep State, and here’s why.
If they were reading his work on Russia, that means they were fully aware that they were using the work of an incompetent spy to justify the surveillance of an American presidential campaign. If they weren’t reading his work, then they blindly accepted Steele’s word that he knew what he was talking about regarding contemporary Putin.
Neither is good, and both warrant Bruce Ohr and co. having to explain to the American people why the word of an incompetent foreign spy was deemed sufficient to use the powers of FISA surveillance against a future president.
But now we know that our own CIA had released an intel assessment on Russia at the very same time Steele was making his asinine claims. So did the FBI ignore our own CIA in favor of Steele’s “expertise?” If so, they’ve demonstrated themselves to be grossly incompetent.
But we all know the real answer to that question. They didn’t opt for Steele’s expertise over our own CIA. They opted for Steele because he was in on their operation. It was never about accuracy; it was about surveillance. They couldn’t follow the facts or logic where they led, because the destination was pre-determined, and that destination was illegal spying on an opposing presidential campaign.
If you’re still not convinced, take into account that even the corrupt smear firm hired by the Clintons to destroy Trump knew Steele had no clue what he was talking about in regards to Russia.
From Solomon’s report:
Even Steele’s former boss, Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson, expressed uncertainty about some of the Russia intelligence Steele was providing.
During a December 2016 meeting, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr recorded Simpson in written notes as saying that some people believed one of the allegations of collusion “but others disagree.”
More importantly, Simpson told Ohr that Steele’s main source wasn’t in Moscow but, rather, was a former Russian intelligence figure in Washington, the notes show.
“Much of the collection about the Trump campaign ties to Russia comes from a former Russian intelligence officer (? not entirely clear) who lives in the US,” Ohr wrote in his notes, quoting Simpson.
In other words, Steele’s intelligence was hearsay collected a continent away from Moscow.
They knew. They all knew. There can longer be any doubt as to whether this was anything but a way to manufacture a justification for surveillance against the Trump campaign.
Every possible argument in other direction has now been demolished.
This is hardly the only reason that Ohr, Comey and virtually the entire 7th floor of the FBI/DOJ should be answering to the American people.
The dossier was a piece of unsubstantiated political garbage financed and pushed by the Clinton camp, who worked in tandem with their corrupt buddies within the Deep State to push it as a legitimate intel product. It’s not as if this latest revelation of Steele’s incompetence is the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of proving corruption. That was proved long ago.
What it does do, however, is remove the only excuse the bureau had for its partnership with Steele.
The only possible justification the FBI had for submitting a FISA application full of unsubstantiated claims — which is in itself illegal (all information in FISA applications must be verified before submission) — was that they came from a subject matter expert whose work on Russia was shown to be completely reliable.
So for those keeping score at home, the FBI had absolutely no excuse for submitting a FISA application with unsubstantiated information, but the excuse they did try to use — they didn’t even have that.
Is it any wonder, then, that the Deep State are fighting tooth and nail to prevent the declassification of the FISA documents?
In a previous piece, I explained that through simple logical deduction we could conclude that the bureau had blatantly lied in its subsequent FISA applications on Carter Page. The reason being, the bureau must demonstrate a growing body of evidence in order to justify continued surveillance. Since we know that the dossier remains unverified to this day, it doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out that the FBI had to make things up as they went along.
And now that we know that Christopher Steele isn’t the Russia expert he’s been billed as, we can logically deduce that the bureau never even had good reason to believe that their suspicions of collusion would be substantiated at all. We all knew that this was crooked from the get-go, but now we have proof.
This latest revelation underscores the need to declassify those FISA documents, along with all correspondence between Bruce Ohr and other FBI officials that were also ordered released.
As we speak, both the DOJ’s inspector general and multiple committees in Congress are investigating whether the FBI properly handled the Trump-Russia collusion case or if it was political in nature. PDT has handed over pertinent documents to the IG as part of that investigation.
The Donald is certainly showing a lot more faith in that entity than I, as I want those documents declassified day before yesterday so the corruption we’ve known about for so long can finally be laid out in black and white for the American public.
I’ve trusted PDT this entire time to know what he’s doing, though, especially since it’s his rear end on the chopping block and he never forfeits potent weapons to be used against his enemies.
I must say, it is trying my patience. All the same, I’m confident in saying PDT has some fireworks on the way.
I know you’ve heard it a million times already, but stay tuned, folks.
The steady stream of information over the past two years has finally succeeded in backing the FBI into a corner, and now it’s just a matter of exposing the details.
Get it done, Mr. President. Your supporters are starving for justice.
But I, for one, know the feast is on the way.
