A Moment of Truth

The time has come to put up or shut up.

.

.

Over the past year, the millions of Americans who have been disgusted with the lack of justice and/or accountability in regards to the Clinton Foundation have hung their hopes on a U.S. Attorney by the name of John Huber, the federal prosecutor tasked by former AG Keebler Jeff Sessions to investigate the overtly criminal Clinton enterprise.

Now, a select few useful Republicans in Congress want to know what the hell Huber has been up to, if anything. And according to Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), they’ll have that chance on Dec. 5.

Meadows, who is chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Government Operations, declared today that it’s time to “circle back” to Huber’s investigation with the DOJ into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any improper activities.

“Mr. [John] Huber with the Department of Justice and the FBI has been having an investigation – at least part of his task was to look at the Clinton Foundation and what may or may not have happened as it relates to improper activity with that charitable foundation, so we’ve set a hearing date for December the 5th,” Meadows told reporters today.

.

Meadow’s said the committee plans to delve into a number of issues related to the foundation, including whether any tax-exempt proceeds were used for personal gain and whether the Foundation complied with IRS laws.

There was also that time Slick Willy Clinton met with Vladimir Putin at his private residence in Moscow after giving a $500K speech (twice his normal rate) in exchange for having Hillary’s state department sign over the rights to 20% of our uranium deposits, thereby furthering Putin’s global energy dependence strategy he’s been using to get Western countries (like Germany) by the short and curlies.

But yeah, the IRS thing is important too.

.

Sessions appointed Huber last year to work alongside the DOJ to look into claims of misconduct at the FBI and review several issues surrounding the Clintons, one of which being Hillary’s ties to the Russian nuclear agency involved in the aforementioned Uranium One deal. Much of the information related to this probe has been hard to attain, however.

For the most part, Huber’s work has been kept completely under wraps. The White House has released little information about his assignment other than Sessions’ address to Congress saying his appointment should “address concerns raised by Congress.” It’s hard to discern, though, whether Huber has actually been attempting to address these concerns or if his appointment has been little more than window dressing to give the appearance that somebody, anybody in the swamp actually gives a damn about getting to the bottom of this corruption.

If recent testimony on Capitol Hill is any indicator, the early returns aren’t looking good.

Among Huber’s reported avenues of investigation are FISA (surveillance) abuse against Carter Page and a somewhat broad mandate to probe the FBI’s mishandling of the Clinton email investigation — two target-rich environments for any U.S. Attorney actually interested in prosecuting crime. But over the course of various testimonies on the Hill as of late, we’ve learned that Huber has failed to so much as reach out to any of the chief persons of interest in either probe.

As of October of this year, Huber’s team hadn’t even contacted Carter Page, much less Lisa Page. Nor, after a year, has Team Huber contacted Bruce Ohr, the man at the heart of the fraudulent FISA applications used to spy on Carter Page and, by association, every other Trump campaign member with whom he was in contact.

There’s no indication that anyone within the FBI has been contacted by Huber, either, which is a problem when you’ve been tasked to investigate misconduct within the…..wait for it…….FBI!

After a while, with so many key witnesses ignored, one has to assume that the “silent executioner” owes his silence not to execution but to shiftlessness.

It seems rather obvious from my vantage point that Huber has allowed DOJ Inspector General Mike Horowitz do the investigating for him, as Huber sits back and awaits Horowitz’s recommendations as if they were delivered unto Mt. Sinai in tablet form.

If things are as they appear to be — and I don’t purport to know for absolute sure one way or the other — this is a gross dereliction of duty on Huber’s part. Meadows, Jim Jordan and the rest of the Freedom Caucus demanded a U.S. Attorney specifically because of the investigative powers they hold.

IG Horowitz, aside from being a coward, can’t even interview personnel who are no longer in government. We needed someone with teeth to go after these issues and, by all accounts, Huber has failed to that end.

I certainly hope to be proved wrong on that account. And thanks to Rep. Meadows, on Dec. 5, I may get the chance to do just that.

.

WAIT, WHAT?

.

Somewhere in between times-up declarations for Huber, and just when all hope seemed lost, Rep. Meadows made a very interesting claim.

In addition to getting Huber on the stand, Meadows added that his committee is also trying to secure testimonies from whistleblowers who could have information regarding criminal activity within the Clinton Foundation.

“We’re just now starting to work with a couple of whistleblowers that would indicate that there is a great probability, a significant improper activity that’s happening in and around the Clinton Foundation,” he said.

Mark, you’re killing me bud. So after 2 years of having GOP control of the House and Senate, now you’re telling me there are whistleblowers on deck with important info on the Clinton Foundation….A MONTH BEFORE DEMOCRATS TAKE OVER?

Where were these people the last 2 years? And how were they smoked out now? I suppose it’s anyone’s guess when courage comes along, but I can’t help but be frustrated by the long-suffered lack of accountability for anyone with a (D) by their name only to be teased just before Republicans lose their subpoena power in the House.

Then again, if these people are real, and they truly have significant information regarding corruption within the CF, my frustrations will be forgotten before you can say “LOCK HER UP!”

BIG PICTURE:

.

Dec. 5th will be feast or famine.

There is a possibility that John Huber will prove everyone wrong and, alongside whistleblowers from the Clinton Foundation, perform a beautiful symphony of truth-telling on Capitol Hill that will mark the beginning of the end for the most infamous and notoriously corrupt pay-for-play institutions in the history of American politics. And perhaps Huber will add a concerto or two regarding FISA abuse by the Obama deep state leading up to the 2016 election and beyond.

There are also lies the possibility that Huber, to the extent he answers questions at all, refers to facts in public record as a result of the IG probes. IG Horowitz has completed his investigation of how the Clinton email probe was handled. You’ll recall that Horowitz couldn’t “prove that Peter Strzok allowed his bias to affect his work,” despite a mountain of circumstantial evidence to the contrary. If Huber relies upon that determination, you’ll know he’s officially in the tank for the Swamp. As to FISA abuse, the IG probe is still ongoing, which leads me to suspect Huber will deflect any questions regarding that side of the house. And seeing as how none of the people involved in the Carter Page FISA scandal have been contacted by Huber, the reasonable assumption is that he’s allowed Horowitz to completely take the investigative wheel.

And Meadows’ whistleblowers….are they mere political devices for a party soon to be in the minority; a dangling lure to rile up the base? “If it weren’t for those darn Democrats, we’d be able to get to the bottom of this, we swear.”

Feast or famine.

Then there is the dream scenario, which would involve Huber unleashing an avalanche of info regarding the least known of his investigative tasks — the Uranium One deal.

Like, say, an explanation of how then-FBI Director Bob Mueller allowed that deal to go forward despite his own FBI’s own counterintelligence probe having uncovered multiple levels of corruption, to include: bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, which the FBI’s own analysts knew full well was part of Putin’s larger global energy strategy. You know, Putin…..the guy whose influence Mueller suddenly has a fierce, patriotic determination to curb.

Did Mueller push this issue to the panel tasked with approving deals of this sort, the Committee of Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)? Did the FBI inform CFIUS at all? If so, how the hell was it approved anyway? Was the FBI corrupt, or was CFIUS corrupt? Or were they all corrupt — the FBI, State Dept, CFIUS, the White House, the public sector oligarchy colloquially known as the Swamp.

.

It’s hard to imagine PDT not having an operation of some sort going on behind the scenes. This is a man who would rather die than lose, after all. But chronic inaction breeds cynicism, and so while I hope for the best, I’ll be preparing for more of the same.
