That is most certainly the question for PDT these days, as congressional negotiators are reportedly close to ironing out a compromise for border security that would fund the government and thus avoid another OMG APOCALYPTIC GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN.
If the early info is any indication of where we are on wall funding, though, this is shaping up to be the Democrats’ kind of compromise.
“I’m not happy about it. It’s not doing the trick,” PDT told Fake News reporters during a Cabinet meeting at the White House.
“I’m adding things to it, and when you add whatever I have to add, it’s all going to happen where we’re going to build a beautiful, big, strong wall,” PDT continued.
As you’re all surely aware by now, the federal gubmint will enter another partial shutdown on Saturday if PDT refuses to sign the agreement, which was struck by Capitol Hill negotiators just one day earlier and contains only a fraction of the money he demanded for the wall, which is itself just a fraction of the total cost of the project.
PDT says he doesn’t foresee another shutdown as a result of negotiations going south, but added “if you did have it, it’s the Democrats fault.”
“I would hope that there won’t be a shutdown,” he said. “I am extremely unhappy with what the Democrats have given us. It’s sad. They’re doing the country no favors.”
