Chicago is as Chicago does.
Everyone’s favorite hate-crime hoaxer has been set free with minimal damage, as the city widely known as the most corrupt in America lived up to its reputation. To refresh your memory, earlier this year Smollett reported to police that he’d been attacked by “two white men” calling him racial and anti-gay slurs and yelling “This MAGA country,” an odd declaration to make in the Democrat stronghold known as the People’s Republic of Chicago. According to Smollett, the attackers poured bleach on him (presumably to make him ‘white’), then got a couple non-injurious punches in before fleeing the scene of their dastardly crime.
No one with a functioning brain bought the story, aside from the usual suspects in the Fake News media, of course. Then sure enough, as information began to make its way into public view, the picture of what really happened became clear: Smollett hired two Nigerian extras from his awful TV show to fake-kick his ass, supposedly as a means of advancing his career.
Fast-forward a month, and Smollett has found himself on the beneficial side of Obama-town corruption, with even seasoned Democrat criminals up in arms about the travesty of justice on display.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office had trouble explaining why the 16 counts of felony disorderly conduct were dropped, except to say the decision came after reviewing the case’s facts — and in view of Smollett’s willingness to forfeit his $10,000 bond.
“After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case,” the state’s attorney’s office said in a statement.
That resolution doesn’t seem nearly as just to those of us who were slandered by the overtly racist Jussie, nor do we appreciate the fact that he was perfectly content to allow perfectly innocent people be charged with this crime. We know that for a fact because he swears his innocence to this very second, despite the very prosecutor who dropped the charges acknowledging his guilt.
